Imagine enjoying a delicious meal surrounded by your favorite Disney characters. That’s the magic of character dining at Walt Disney World! These special restaurant experiences allow you to meet and greet iconic Disney personalities like Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, or Winnie the Pooh, all while enjoying a delicious Disney meal. It’s a wonderful opportunity to capture cherished photos, get autographs, and create lasting memories. *Pro Tip: You’ll want to allow up to 90 minutes for these meals to ensure you get a chance to meet all the characters.

Not Just For Kids

While character dining might conjure up images of excited children meeting their favorite Disney pals, the magic extends far beyond young guests. Mike and I love Disney Character Dining. There is something special about being able to embrace your inner child and feel the wave of nostalgia that comes with hugging Mickey or Goofy! So, don’t hesitate to join the fun – you definitely won’t be alone! Character dining at Disney World is for everyone!

How to Book Character Dining

Reservations for character dining fill up quickly, so planning ahead is crucial. Reservations are released 60 days in advance at precisely 6:00 AM, so be sure to set your alarm! You’ll want to make sure your account is already set up on the My Disney Experience website or mobile app and you have your credit card nearby. If you don’t get the reservation you were hoping for, don’t worry! Keep an eye out for cancellations along the way and you may be able to snag a reservation a little closer to your trip. I have even used reservation-finding services, such as Mouse Dining, with a lot of luck! You can enter your desired restaurants and dining times, and Mouse Dining will send you an alert when something becomes available.

Speaking of Cancellations…

Securing your spot for a character dining experience is important, but life can be unpredictable. Luckily, Disney offers some flexibility with cancellations. In most cases, you can cancel your reservation at least two hours before your mealtime without incurring a fee. However, some character dining experiences might have stricter policies. Review the cancellation policy for your reservation, which is typically included in the confirmation email you receive after booking. If you’re still unsure, don’t hesitate to contact Disney directly. They’re happy to clarify the cancellation terms for your chosen restaurant.

With so many fantastic character dining options at Disney World, planning your experience can feel overwhelming. But fear not! I will help you navigate through the diverse selection of restaurants, highlighting the characters you can meet at each location. I will also provide details like meal options and pricing.
